Description: DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain the accessibility of all Oracle Financial Application databases within the company. Other duties: Advice the Department head of opportunities to enhance the environment (s) and end user experience with the Oracle Applications and Oracle related platforms. Ensure database integrity is to be maintained at all times, including backup, recovery, and assurance that the proper procedures are in place. Support new and on-going development efforts on all Oracle instances. Maintain all software at appropriate patch and release levels. Look forward and prepare for new releases and coordinate as required. Provide the appropriate leadership for testing and pre-production needs as well as overseeing database rollouts through production and deployments for all applications and databases hosted within the company in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. Have the necessary understanding of the applications; be involved in release management and installation training if needed.
The person in this position must demonstrate technical leadership in Oracle 9i, UNIX (Solaris 9), Shell Scripting, RMAN, Net backup, PL/SQL, XML, and Java. You will manage backup, recovery, and cloning activities in multi-tier environments. Knowledge of third party applications such as Mercury IT Governance, Decision Point Data warehouse is preferred.
