Description: Besides performing typical DBA work, the chosen candidate
will work closely with the
business units and be responsible for data quality, integrity, and database
constraints. Additionally,
you will develop, implement, and oversee database policies and procedures;
develop database architectures; create new data models and manage data
backups. In this position, you will install and configure Solaris OS,
multiple Oracle databases, and work closely with the BEA WebLogic and
business teams. You will resolve performance issues and monitor database
system details including stored procedures, execution time, efficiency
improvements. Other duties include: designing and implementing redundant
systems for disaster recovery, contingency of operations and data archiving;
monitoring, optimizing and allocating physical data storage; and performing
database transaction and security audits.
Strong database experience in production environments required. Should be
able to work with incoming data from other municipalities including Oracle7,
SQL Server, MySQL and Windows 2000/2003. Knowledge of Toad, CVS or other
versioning tools and experience with Vertias Backup Exec 9/10 preferred.
Knowledge of Linux/other Unix, and other applications is a plus. Candidates
must have an understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and
practices and experience designing, building, installing, configuring and
supporting database servers, including Oracle 9i/10, SQL Server 2003, My
SQL, Access 2003. Database tuning and troubleshooting experience is
required.
Experienced DBA Only (3 years minimum)
US Citizens Only; Must be able to obtain US Security Clearance
